Contact UsDr. Thomas Sladek, M.D., Dipl. Acup.
I am an integrative medical doctor who specializes in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine, as well as specific methods of Detoxification like Colon hydrotherapy, Ozone treatments and specific forms of juice fasting and liver detoxification.
My interest in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine started early
during my medical studies when I worked as an assistant for a
professor of physical rehabilitation who was one of the first
Western doctors trained in the science of acupuncture in China. I
was extremely impressed by the astonishing results we achieved
with our acupuncture especially with patients suffering from
chronic pain.
After graduating as a medical doctor and finishing my Hospital
residency, I underwent 3 years of additional studies in
Acupuncture and TCM, 2 years of them in China. Soon after, my
interest expanded into new fields of medicine like Ozone therapy
and Colon hydrotherapy.
Over the last 25 years I have dedicated most of my medical Work to
the concept of Detox, which I do with various methods with the
ultimate aim to prevent disease and strengthen one’s immune
system. More then 10 years ago, I also started and really enjoy
doing Facial rejuvenation without the use of any toxins.

What is Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a safe and effective natural therapy that is used to heal illness, prevent disease and improve wellbeing by preserving or restoring the body’s inner harmony. Acupuncture is effective for controlling pain and it can regulate the body's physiological functions to treat various internal dysfunctions and emotional disorders.
Tiny, hair-thin needles are inserted into specific points in the
body to trigger the body’s natural healing response. There are
fourteen energy channels called “ meridians” running vertically
along the length of the human body, each one linking to a
specific organ. QI, the natural energy of the universe, flows
freely along these meridian lines as long as the body is
healthy. Qi consists of opposing forces known as Yin and Yang.
Yin and Yang need to be in the right balance for harmony to be
achieved. Acupuncture rebalances the Yin and Yang to achieve
harmony. In acupuncture, the rebalancing of Yin and Yang is the
basis of healing. Illness is caused by the obstructed energy
flow at certain points along the meridians. Acupuncture therapy
stimulates meridian flow and harmonizes the body’s energy to
improve the health of the body and mind.
What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon hydrotherapy is a safe and effective method of removing waste from the large intestine without the use of drugs. By introducing filtered and temperature regulated water into the colon, the waste is softened and loosened, resulting in evacuation through natural peristalsis. The process is repeated a few times during a session.
What-why-benefits Colon hydrotherapy is a valuable means of "maintenance" for a wide variety of different health challenges. A toxic bowel is the source of many health problems. By cleansing the old, toxic mucus lining of the bowel, one can feel better. In addition, the bowel is open to a more efficient means of waste elimination and nutrient absorption, both of which can be helpful to any healing process. The toxins in the fecal matter are absorbed by the colon wall and recirculate through the bloodstream: this process is called "autointoxication". As these toxins circulate in the body, the lymphatic, circulatory systems, liver, lungs and kidneys become overburdened and when these systems are unable to cope with this toxic overload your body becomes at risk for serious health problems.
- Symptoms of autointoxication include:
- Difficult weight loss
- Foul body/breath odor
- Headaches
- Indigestion
- Irritability
- Allergies
- Arthritis
- Nervousness
- Depression
- Chronic fatigue
- Frequent colds
- Constipation
- Asthma
- Lack of mental focus
- Poor vision
- Acne
- Bloating
What is Chinese Cupping
Cupping is the term applied to a technique that uses small cups as suction devices that are placed on the skin to disperse and break up stagnation and congestion by drawing congested blood, toxins, energy or other humour to the surface. The suction in the cups causes the skin and superficial muscle layer to be lightly drawn into the cup. Cupping is much like the inverse of massage – rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. For most patients, this is a particularly relaxing and relieving sensation.
Once suctioned, the cups are generally left in place for about 45 minutes while the patient relaxes. The cups are used at specific acupuncture points on the back, 24 points in total. Each pair of points represents an organ system in your body, like the lungs, liver, kidneys etc. This is similar to the practice of Tui Na, a traditional Chinese medicine massage technique that targets acupuncture points. The side effects of cupping are fairly mild. Bruising should be expected, but the skin should return to looking normal within 3-5 days.
What does it do for you?The old Chinese medical maxim holds that illness results from the congestion, stagnation, and blockage of Qi, or vital energy, vital fluids, lymph, phlegm, and blood. Chinese cupping is therefore a method of breaking up the blockage to restore the body’s natural flow of energy. Like acupuncture, cupping follows the lines of the meridians. There are five meridian lines on the back, and these are where the cups are usually placed. Using these points, cupping can help align and relax qi and target more specific maladies. By targeting the meridian channels, cupping strives to ‘open’ these channels – the paths through which life energy flows freely throughout the body, through all tissues and organs, thus providing a smoother and more free-flowing qi (life force). Toxins can be released, blockages can be removed. More benefits of Chinese cupping for the lungs can clear congestion from a common cold or help to control a person’s asthma. In fact, respiratory conditions are one of the most common maladies that cupping is used to relieve. Cupping removes toxins and improves blood flow through the veins and arteries. Especially useful for athletes is cupping’s potential to relieve muscle spasms. Cupping also affects the digestive system. A few benefits include an improved metabolism, relief from constipation, a healthy appetite, and stronger digestion.
What is Facial Rejuvenation?
Combining acupuncture and Auriculotherapy as well as acupressure, Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a virtually painless, non-surgical procedure that can restore youthful beauty to your face. It can reduce wrinkles, fine lines, puffiness, facial sagging and discolouration. It can also reduce eye bags, droopy eyelids and double chins. Treatments have been known to improve hormonal balance, delay hair loss and greying associated with aging, and even improve the quality of sleep.
Refined, tested, and perfected throughout thousands of years,
acupuncture is a natural, non-invasive method of addressing both
the outward symptoms of aging and its internal causes. Facial
Rejuvenation is a holistic approach to beauty that helps the
whole body look and feel younger. By addressing the physical,
mental and emotional stresses that cause disease and accelerated
aging, it goes beyond mere cosmetics and deals directly with the
health of the body’s largest organ the skin. Facial Rejuvenation
works by tightening pores, improving muscle tone, increasing
collagen production and reducing facial stresses. It also
restores balance to the skin’s moisture and colour by increasing
blood circulation to the face, which improves muscle tone.
One treatment lasts exactly one hour. We advise three treatments
in a weekly interval.
